You want it darker?
At Brandwood Clinic we spend almost all our time in the pursuit of perfection. This may not be achievable but it’s a result we aspire to and aim to accomplish for everyone who comes into the clinic.
Our attitude to perfection is the quest that drives us to examine new techniques. We’re always looking for an improvement, however minor, something that could deliver a difference. It may be a different needle, a minor tweak in technique, new machines or hand pieces, changes of pigment or colour fluctuations. We always ask the question: ‘is there something else we can try?’
An obsession with scalp perfection
Perfection is unattainable of course but it is also a healthy obsession of ours. We feel it and we know that the people who come here for Scalp Micropigmentation do so because they want the best. You want it and we want it too. We’ll always do our best to deliver it.
Our idea of perfection in terms of the treatment itself is related to realism. How authentic does it look, how real? Our aim and ambition is to match and blend so well with your existing hair colour that no one would ever know where hair ends and SMP begins.
As preoccupied as you are about finding a solution to your hair loss issues, we are equally so to ensuring that Scalp Micropigmentation is the answer. Occasionally our views may differ with yours and in those, admittedly limited, instances we try to find a compromise – something that satisfies all parties.
Less is more
A common occurrence in clinic is that, on returning for the second or third session, a client will utter the words, ‘can we make it a little darker?’ It’s a natural reaction which occurs for several reasons. The first reason is the process itself. In session one the pigment and procedure is naturally light as we establish a template. Session two is generally where the magic happens and the treatment truly takes shape. This development in detail and density is a revelation for some people, you see the treatment growing in strength and you want to push on for the look you remember from your youth.
This is a treatment that alters the recipient’s state of mind in many ways. After years of struggling with both appearance and confidence, it returns. You are emboldened and want more but, as we always say, sometimes less is more.
There is a psychological condition known as cognitive dissonance that also comes into play. Two conflicting thoughts are passing through your mind and doing battle. You’ve made a momentous decision to have the treatment and now you want to make sure it’s right. Is it a dramatic enough change? This decision-making process occurs with a lot of ‘big ticket’ items and is commonly known as buyer’s remorse occurring initially when something you’ve put a lot of thought into doesn’t seem to do everything you’d wanted.
The beauty of Scalp Micropigmentation is that you can have a ‘cooling off’ period, walk out with the treatment for a few days or weeks and see if you still feel the same. Show it off, embrace the reactions, seek opinions from those closest to you. Beyond that – and if you’re uncomfortable drawing attention to the treatment – chat to us, let’s discuss it and look once it’s settled down. We’re very active in enforcing our two-year guarantee and ensuring your satisfaction.
Darker isn’t always right. Remember that you’re looking at the results far more regularly and rigorously than anyone else. If we’ve done our work properly, few others will recognise the reason for the change in you, or they will but be unable to pinpoint it.
Reality is our speciality, a natural look, a thorough and precision-delivered replication of your own hair follicles. Trust in our eye, our skills and expertise. Together we will reinvigorate your appearance and restore your confidence. Changing lives every day!
